ولودیمیر زلنسکی، رئیس‌جمهور اوکراین، در ویدیویی که در شبکه اجتماعی اکس منتشر کرد اعلام کرد تیمی از مقام‌های نظامی و امنیتی اوکراین در حال حرکت به سوی منطقه خلیج فارس هستند تا در حفاظت از جان مردم و کمک به تثبیت اوضاع نقش ایفا کنند.

او در این پیام گفت رژیم جمهوری اسلامی عملاً تنگه هرمز را مسدود کرده؛ مسیری که یکی از اصلی‌ترین راه‌های انتقال نفت و گاز به بازار جهانی به شمار می‌رود و بسته شدن آن می‌تواند بی‌ثباتی گسترده‌ای در اقتصاد جهانی ایجاد کند.

زلنسکی تأکید کرد هنوز مشخص نیست این وضعیت تا چه زمانی ادامه خواهد داشت، اما «ضروری است که حفاظت از جان انسان‌ها هرچه سریع‌تر به‌طور مؤثر آغاز شود» و ثبات منطقه برقرار شود.

رئیس‌جمهور اوکراین همچنین گفت کشورهایی که اکنون از اوکراین درخواست کمک می‌کنند، باید به حمایت از توان دفاعی اوکراین ادامه دهند؛ به‌ویژه در زمینه تقویت سامانه‌های پدافند هوایی این کشور.

او در ادامه به پیشنهاد سال گذشته کی‌یف برای همکاری پهپادی با آمریکا اشاره کرد و گفت اوکراین بیشترین تجربه جهان را در مقابله با پهپادهای تهاجمی دارد و بدون این تجربه، برای کشورهای منطقه خلیج فارس، خاورمیانه و همچنین شرکای اروپایی و آمریکایی «ایجاد یک سامانه دفاعی قدرتمند بسیار دشوار خواهد بود».
