The UK justice system is under serious strain and I’m living the consequences of it.
My case sat in the Magistrates’ Court for years. Just as I was preparing for trial tomorrow and some form of closure, it has now been moved to the Crown Court, where the backlog means even more waiting.
As a victim, that means reliving everything, preparing myself emotionally, and then being told it may now take years longer.
There’s constant talk about reform and reducing backlogs. But while the system debates, my life remains in limbo.
I have to remind myself why I’m doing this. I refuse to stay silent. I want my children to see that even when the process is long and exhausting, you stand up, you speak out, and you don’t allow your voice to disappear.
