IRGC Navy's Shahid Soleimani-class catamaran missile corvettes pose a serious asymmetric threat to US Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, according to israeli think tank Alma.
"These high-speed (up to 32 knots) ~ 65m platforms carry vertical launchers for long-range anti-ship cruise missiles.
The IRGC claims the Soleimani-class catamarans even have stealth capability.
They extend strike reach beyond the chokepoint, support swarm boats, enable hit-and-run tactics in confined waters, potentially disrupting naval operations or commercial shipping in this critical chokepoint."
