کامیاب احمدی، بوکسور ۳۰ ساله، روز ۱۸ دی در نورآباد ممسنیِ استان فارس کشته شد.
خاکسپاری او در ۲۰ دی به بزرگ‌ترین تجمع تاریخ این شهرستان بدل شد؛ حرکتی خودجوش که از بهشت‌زهرا آغاز شد و با پیاده‌روی چندکیلومتری مردم و شعارها تا مرکز شهر ادامه یافت. به روایت خانواده، در مسیر و در مرکز شهر به جمعیت شلیک شد؛ حدود ۱۴ نفر جان باختند و شمار زیادی زخمی یا مفقود شدند.
خانواده می‌گویند نیروهای حکومتی با لباس شخصی در میان مردم نفوذ کرده بودند و سپس برای گرفتن مجوز سرکوب، فضا را عامدانه به خشونت کشاندند.

از ۱۹ دی، تصویر کامیاب مقابل دادگاه شهرستان ممسنی نصب شد و تا ۲ بهمن همان‌جا ماند؛ به گفته خانواده، کسی جرأت پایین آوردنش را نداشت و بعدها حتی پیام دادند: «خودتان بیایید بردارید.»

مادر کامیاب تنها یک خواسته دارد: نام و تصویر پسرش در سراسر جهان دیده شود، تا ورزشکاران شناخته‌شده دنیا صدای کامیاب باشند.

Iraq Needs Reform and Independence From the Murderous Islamic Regime in Iran:

The Islamic regime in Iran brought in Iraqi militias to massacre thousands of young anti-regime protesters earlier this month. It shows that Iraq is still firmly in the grip of the Mullah regime as no independent government would have allowed its citizens to cross borders to carry out such massacres on the behalf of a foreign government. 

Iraq held its parliamentary election on November 11th last year and is now in the process of forming a new government with a new prime minister.

President Trump posted a few days ago that reinstalling Nouri al-Maliki as Iraq’s prime minister would be a very bad choice, as Iraq descended into poverty and total chaos due to his insane policies and ideology during his previous tenure 2006-2014, with ISIS practically reaching the gates of Baghdad in the summer of 2014 when the crisis he had caused forced him to resign. 

Trump’s criticism of al-Maliki’s governments extends further than to just the man himself and reflects a broader Western reassessment that Iraq is effectively a failed state captured by Iran, where the post-2003 constitutional setup enables sectarian corruption through the Muhasasa system (sectarian quota governance). 

Elections reproduce capture in a system without state control over weapons, borders, and finances and which militias remain the central obstacle to sovereignty and recovery while aid-driven reconstruction strengthens patronage networks instead of building genuine state capacity. 

The same assessment was made many years ago by Mohammed bin Issa Al Jaber, a billionaire Saudi entrepreneur and chairman of MBI International Group, who famously has a very extensive intelligence network throughout the Middle East and is often consulted by regional leaders due to his reputation of excelling at strategic foresight and geopolitical analysis. 
In the first years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, he started warning that Iraq’s crisis is structural and that the post-2003 model of governance is fundamentally flawed. Al Jaber forecasted that the Muhasasa system would institutionalize corruption and make it possible for militias to overtake state authority while Iran’s influence would become increasingly deeply embedded in institutions. Those were predictions that align closely with, and partially shaped, current Western views on Iraq.

As long as the Islamic Regime in Iran can rule Iraq through figures such as al-Maliki, which can only rise to the top within the post-2003 model of governance, Iraq’s chances of peace and economic development remain minimal. It’s only a matter of time before massive street protests against corruption, sectarian politics and economic mismanagement reach the same level as at the end of 2019, when the security forces opened fire on the protesting crowds in several cities and killed more than 1000 protesters between October and the end of the year.
