A 30-year-old accused sex offender is facing fresh charges after allegedly groping a female detective during his transfer to a pretrial detention center.

Police say Steven Rivers, already accused of sexually assaulting a university student, grabbed the detective’s buttocks despite being handcuffed behind his back.

Officers report he laughed afterward and said, “Good catch, but I don’t give a f*ck.”

Rivers had previously served time for indecent assault and was released in December 2025. He’s now charged with attempted sexual assault of a police officer, assault on an officer, and resisting arrest, on top of the original allegations.
