🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸 USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN MOVES INTO STRIKE RANGE OF IRAN

The USS Abraham Lincoln is moving into a position where it could hit Iran within days. At its current pace, it’s in strike range around Jan 23.

That’s deliberate. You don’t sail a carrier that close unless you want Tehran to notice.

This doesn’t mean an attack is decided. It means the US is creating pressure. A carrier in range gives Washington options: airstrikes, deterrence, or just intimidation. It’s a way to say “we can act fast” without actually pulling the trigger.

Trump’s pattern matters here. He uses force as a bargaining chip. Big, visible military moves. Lots of uncertainty. Then he waits to see who blinks. He’s done this with Iran before. He’s done it with North Korea.

So the real question isn’t “will he attack on Jan 23.” It’s whether Iran does something dumb, or whether backchannel talks start because the clock suddenly feels real in Tehran.

Right now, this looks like leverage, not a launch countdown. But once the carrier is in place, mistakes get expensive fast.

🇮🇷 IRAN'S PLAYING "IS HE DEAD OR ISN'T HE?" WITH 26-YEAR-OLD PROTESTER

Erfan Soltani disappeared into Iran's prison system on Jan 8. Shopkeeper. Not a political activist. Just participated in protests.

Family told Jan 12: death sentence, execution Jan 14. No trial. No lawyer. Sister's a lawyer - authorities blocked her from his case file. 10-minute goodbye scheduled.

Trump threatened Iran. Suddenly Jan 15: Iranian judiciary says "death sentence? what death sentence?" Claims he only faces prison charges.

Family says execution was "postponed." Not cancelled.

Now it's Jan 18. Nobody knows if he's alive. No family access. No proof of life. Internet blackout across Iran means zero verification possible.

Soltani was supposed to be the first official protester execution. Message to everyone else. Trump's threats bought time, not freedom.

🚨🇮🇷 IRAN MAY BE USING CHEMICAL WEAPONS ON PROTESTERS. FOOTAGE SHOWS IRANIAN SECURITY IN HAZMAT GEAR

People are starting to ask the very ugly question about Iran.

Footage from Sabzevar shows security forces in full protective gear you’d expect around chemical exposure, not normal crowd control.

One protester says it’s been over a week since being hit with what they called “tear gas” in Niavaran and their body still isn’t right. Blood pressure and heart rate through the roof.

Stomach pain. Headaches. Dizziness. A doctor at the local clinic reportedly told them lots of patients are showing the same symptoms and that it doesn’t look like standard tear gas at all.

No proof yet. But when riot police suit up like it’s a hazmat drill and civilians keep getting sick days later, people are going to connect dots and ask questions whether the regime likes it or not.

🇮🇷 IRANIAN OFFICIAL CONFIRMS 5,000 KILLED IN PROTESTS

An unnamed figure in the Iranian government just announced that at least 5,000 people have died in Iran's ongoing protests, including about 500 security personnel.

The news comes shortly after the Iranian human rights group HRANA reported over 3300 protesters have been killed.

The official said, "The final toll is not expected to increase sharply."

🇮🇷 IRAN CALLS BULLSHIT ON TRUMP'S BACKDOWN, SAYS ATTACK'S STILL COMING

Iranian state media says Trump's playing them.

Foreign Minister says the violence was designed "to give an excuse" for U.S. strikes. Khamenei blamed Trump directly for thousands dead, called him the center of the plot.

Why they're not buying the peace talk: Trump promised protesters "help is on the way," evacuated personnel from Qatar base, threatened strikes - then Wednesday suddenly said "killings stopped, executions cancelled."

Iran's read: pure show.

Washington Post confirmed Trump almost struck but backed off after learning it wouldn't topple the regime. But also reported he gets another shot in 2-3 weeks when U.S. military assets finish repositioning in the region.

Tehran thinks the quiet is tactical, not real. Force buildup continues. When ships are in place, pretexts return, strikes happen.

Iranian protesters now feel used. "Trump's yellow inside and out," one teacher told TIME.

15,000+ took his word, hit the streets, got massacred.

Iran's betting the attack still comes. Just with better positioning and less attention.

(They're probably right.)

3. Syrian forces have surged 50km from Aleppo toward Raqqa, seizing the Tabqa Dam as the SDF retreats faster than agreed, turning what was supposed to be an orderly handover into a chaotic land grab.

4. Trump threatened to hit Denmark and several European countries with 10% tariffs starting February 1, rising to 25% by June, if they oppose his push to take over Greenland.

5. Chuck Schumer vowed Democrats will undo DOGE-era spending cuts if they win, signaling a return to bigger government outlays that critics say will revive the same waste, fraud, and bloated programs taxpayers are already fed up with.

🇺🇸🇻🇪 INSIDER LEAK OR LUCKY BETS? PREDICTION MARKETS FLAGGED AFTER MADURO FALL

Trump said the “Venezuela leaker” has been found and is in jail. He didn’t name the person, but it sparked a ton of eyeballs on prediction markets like Polymarket because some accounts made crazy profitable bets right before Venezuela’s leadership got taken down.

Blockchain watchers noticed that at least a couple of those big wallets that hit it big on bets about Maduro’s removal have gone quiet (they haven’t traded in days) and one of them is still rolling with bets on Iran’s Supreme Leader being ousted by the end of the month.

So the vibe online right now is either:
* Someone had legit insider info and front-ran it,
* Or it was a wild lucky guess that happened to land perfectly.

Whatever the case, lawmakers are now talking about tightening rules because people are freaked out that folks might be making millions off political/military secrets in these markets.

It’s weird and a bit wild: political leaks + prediction markets + real world events all tangled together.

🇮🇷 DID IRAN USE CHEMICAL WEAPONS ON PROTESTERS?

Yesterday we posted about claims regarding chemical weapons having been used against Iranian protesters.

Here’s what we know, and my opinion on the matter

Bill Esterson, a member of the British Labour Party’s foreign policy team, made this claim on GB News basing it on a “credible” report. The story was then reported by many media outlets.

As mentioned in our tweet, this claim was not verified and hasn’t been mentioned by any other sources.

Many were upset by this claim, and rightly so, comparing it to similar claims by the U.S. which were later debunked (Iraq’s alleged stockpiles of chemical weapons, or accusations against Soviet-backed forces in Vietnam and Laos)

My Thoughts: It’s simple, we do not know.

There is a complete internet blackout and no foreign journalists are allowed.

However, although I am very critical of the regime, I doubt they used chemical weapons on the protesters. They do not need to, they significantly outnumber and outgun the people on the streets, and using chemical weapons would not only justify, but create a moral imperative for Trump to intervene, something they are desperately trying to avoid.

I do however believe they shot unarmed protesters in a very brutal crackdown, one that seems to dwarf any other protest in Iran’s modern history, including the 1979 revolution.

Funny how I get called a Zionist and an Antisemite by extremes on both sides

Happens every time there’s a major polarizing political event

For anyone who cares about my actual stance:

- I am AGAINST the current regime in Iran, which has brutally cracked down on protests with significant violence

- I am AGAINST U.S. military intervention if the goal is regime change, but more nuanced if the goal is pressure on the regime to force concessions. The reason is simple: There is no strong opposition in Iran, the institutions are all controlled by the IRGC, and the country's ethnic diversity makes it ripe for civil unrest like we’ve seen in Syria, Libya and Iraq.

- American-led sanctions are the main reason for the economic suffering in Iran. You can blame Iran’s foreign policy or the West for these sanctions, but that’s reality.

- I am AGAINST any Israeli military intervention in Iran, as their objective is most likely regime change, and I do not want Iran to end up like Syria or Iraq

- And for the millionth time, I am very critical of Israel’s war in Gaza, and more nuanced on their wars against Hezbollah and the Houthis

And obviously, I am not being paid by Israel, the Qataris, for any other foreign nation. My entire media company is self-funded through my businesses, which I am the majority shareholder of and sole decision maker.

Lastly, Kim Dotcom’s attacks on me have been ongoing for years now. I have nothing bad to say about him, free speech allows him to say whatever he wants about me. I just wish him well after his stroke a few months ago, and it’s good to see him healthy and active on X again.

Ian Miles Cheong: You can say whatever you want about @MarioNawfal but to claim that he "sold out" to Israel for the paltry sum of $7,000 is pure, unadulterated garbage.

For anyone who understands the scale of Mario’s operations, the idea that he would compromise his entire brand and reputation
