🇺🇸 TRUMP’S FOREIGN POLICY IN ONE LINE: “JUST LOOK AT IRAQ”
When Trump was asked why he’s working with the same regime in Venezuela, even after capturing Maduro, he didn’t over-explain or dodge.
He just said: “Look at Iraq.”
And that line says everything you need to know about his foreign policy.
Changing the leader of a regime, and threatening the rest, is a more efficient way to get an unfriendly Government to change course
Whereas a complete regime change is significantly more difficult and could lead to bloodshed, as we’ve seen over multiple failed attempts over many decades.
And Trump isn’t just applying this approach in Venezuela, you can see the same strategy playing out in Iran.
Trump talks tough: sanctions, airstrike threats, full pressure. But if you actually look at what he’s doing, not just what he’s saying, he’s actually being very calculated to ensure he does not end up in another endless war.
And his recent meetings with Tucker, Netanyahu, and other Gulf leaders, show he’s taking all factors into consideration before making a decision.
It’s not isolationism, and it’s definitely not neocon warmongering. It’s something else: maximum pressure, minimal mess. He’s using leverage and force, without falling into the regime-change trap that wrecked many other countries.
People can argue about style, tone, or headlines all day. But in terms of strategy? Trump is being more deliberate, and strategic, than most are willing to admit.
