I don’t want to hear a word about Iran until this insanity in our own country is taken care of.

🇮🇷 I get why people are calling for strikes; the regime is brutal, and what it’s doing to protesters is horrific.

But bombing Iran won’t help. It’ll just blow the whole place open: civil war, ethnic breakups, chaos. Kurds, Baloch, Arabs, a lot of groups already want out. A collapse could make that explode. Think Iraq and Syria 2.0.

What the U.S. should be doing is using pressure, real pressure, to force the regime to back off: stop the killings, free the prisoners, and offer concessions to the protesters.

It could also use this opportunity to force Iran to change its foreign policy: Less ‘Death to America & Israel’ and more Gulf-like economic progressiveness. Less nuclear ambitions and more cooperation. And if successful, lift the sanctions crippling the country’s economy and hurting the people.

This should be about helping Iranians, not pushing U.S. or Israeli interests. Let’s not hijack their fight.
