Trump states: “I’m going back to the White House now, we’re going to look at the whole situation that’s going on in Iran. It’s really bad stuff… Iran is on my mind, when I see the kind of death that is happening over there, we think… We’ll get some accurate numbers as to what’s happening with regard to the killing. The killing looks like it’s significant but we don’t know for certain.”

Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar have privately been lobbying the Trump Administration against a strike on Tehran, after the U.S. warned them to be prepared for such an attack, concerned an attempt to topple the Iranian Regime would rattle oil markets and ultimately hurt the economy of the United States, according to Arab Gulf officials who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.

Arab Gulf States fear strikes on Iran risk disrupting oil tankers moving through the Strait of Hormuz, through which passes around a fifth of the world’s oil shipments, with Saudi officials having assured Tehran that they wouldn’t get involved in a potential conflict or allow the Americans to use their airspace for strikes, in an effort to distance themselves from and stave off military action by the United States.
